MORGANTOWN, W. Va. — A missing woman’s body was found in the trunk of her car in a Walmart parking lot in Morgantown, West Virginia, police said.
Alexa Randolph had last been seen Thursday at her apartment on Overdale Street.
Randolph’s car was found Friday afternoon in the parking lot of the Walmart on Hornbeck Road. Investigators then discovered her body in the trunk. The parking lot was about 10 minutes from her home.
“It’s just a tragedy. It’s just a loss. We lost a good person and it’s not fair,” said Savannah Harris. “She was charismatic. She had a great heart and was a great mom.”
Randolph was from Fayette County and graduated from Albert Gallatin High School. Her mother was killed in a car accident when she was a little girl. Her grandparents raised her.
A medical examiner will determine how Randolph died.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department is taking over the investigation.
