Men charged with dumping woman’s body in rural Washington County

CECIL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two men are now behind bars in Washington County, charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in connection to the disappearance of Rebecca Kloster. Christian Panyko and Matthew Shashura are being held in Washington County Jail without bail.

Kloster, 33, was reported missing on Jan. 19, but on Tuesday her body was found in a wooded area off Hahn Drive in Cecil Township.

“She’s laying out somewhere in the freezing cold,” Barbara Clutter told Channel 11 about what went through her mind when her granddaughter was missing.

“I miss her so much,” Clutter told Channel 11. “She was such a good girl and she told me almost everyday that she loved me.”

Clutter said she knows exactly who Matthew Shashura is because he had been in her home and her granddaughter told her that she liked him.

“I just can’t believe — I just can’t believe this,” Clutter said through tears. “She actually liked him. He came here one day and sat right where you are. He talked to me and was very nice and she said she liked him.”

Clutter said the three went to a local motel to do drugs together and that was the last anyone saw of her granddaughter.

“They had pictures of these two guys carrying her out of the motel and putting her in the car,” Clutter added. “Instead of them calling 911, they tried to revive her themselves and couldn’t and when they didn’t, they just carried her out, put her in a car and dumped her on the side of the road.”

Clutter has a message for the two men: “I hope they rot in jail.”

An autopsy will be performed to determine exactly how Kloster died.

Panyko and Shashura will be back in court next Tuesday for a preliminary hearing.
