Allegations of inappropriate contact by bus driver unfounded, police say

WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: According to West Mifflin Police Department, the girls involved in these allegations made up the incident.

"The statements from the juveniles in question are completely discredited. In addition, we have alerted school counselors through the superintendent’s office to inquire if any other students that ride this same route to determine if there are any allegations that our department is not aware of," the department said on Facebook.

ORIGINAL: A bus driver is on leave after allegedly acting inappropriately toward middle school students in West Mifflin.

According to West Mifflin School District Solicitor Gary Matta, the incident involved inappropriate touching.

Channel 11 has learned the incident was reported Tuesday morning, Sept. 4, and, in addition to notifying parents, the bus company was contacted immediately.

According to the solicitor, the driver is no longer working for West Mifflin while an investigation is on-going.
