PITTSBURGH — A busy road was shut down Wednesday morning after a massive water main break in the St. Clair section of Pittsburgh.
A portion of Becks Run Road near East Carson Street was blocked after a water line broke on Mountain Avenue and Wagner Avenue around 2 a.m. Police reported the road started buckling.

According to Pennsylvania American Water, the road will open to normal traffic around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Officials outlined traffic schedules for the respective roadways starting Thursday:
Becks Run Road (Between Wagner and East Agnew Avenue)
- 7/23/20 – 7/25/20: Traffic will be restricted to alternating lanes between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. and then will return to normal use.
Wagner Avenue (Between Becks Run Road and Mountain Avenue)
- 7/23/20 – 7/28/20: Traffic will be restricted to alternating lanes between 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. The roadway will be closed from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. It will return to alternating lanes from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. and then return to normal use.
When a Channel 11 News crew got there, they saw a geyser shooting from the ground and running off the road and down a hillside.
There were about 95 customers without water following the main break.
