BRIDGEVILLE — A man was taken to a local burn center after being rescued from his burning home by bystanders in Bridgeville Saturday.
The incident occurred on Dewey Avenue, when two men working outside heard fire alarms going off and saw thick smoke pouring out of a nearby home.
“Thick enough to be concerned, and it was getting worse by the minute,” Zack Adams said.
Adams said another man pulled the victim from the home; he had been asleep and had no idea there was a fire at all.
“He got him out of there. I tried to put the fire out with water, it just wasn’t happening,” Adams said.
Firefighters were able to get it under control in just a few minutes and the victim was taken to a local burn center.
The Allegheny County Fire Marshal is investigating how the fire started.
