MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Need a car? A 2018 Chevrolet Camaro and a 2016 Cadillac Escalade are among the items up for grabs at this year’s annual auction of abandoned vehicles from Pittsburgh International Airport that will be auctioned off next week.

This year’s auction will look a little different because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be held virtually Sept. 24 at 6 p.m on the Joe R. Pyle Complete Auction & Realty Service website.

Nearly 20 vehicles will be auctioned off, along with used Allegheny County Airport Authority vehicles and equipment.

Interested bidders may attend one of two scheduled preview sessions at Pittsburgh International Airport’s Snow Removal Equipment Building on Sept. 22. COVID-related safety guidelines will be strictly enforced and the number of people allowed inside the building will be limited.

Bidders must register and bid online. There is no one permitted on-site. Pre-bids are being accepted from now until the live auction begins. That’s when auctioneers will call bids and the prices will advance.

Winning bidders need to schedule an appointment to pick up their purchases by Oct. 2.
