CANONSBURG, Pa. — Canon-McMillan Senior High School was briefly evacuated Wednesday morning after a “chemical gas release” in the school’s swimming pool area.
There has been an emergency evacuation at Canon-McMillan Senior High School out of an abundance of caution due to a chemical gas release confined to the swimming pool area. Everyone is safe and more updates will follow.

School officials said everyone was safe and the evacuation was out of an abundance of caution.
Students were served lunches outside.

Around noon, the North Strabane Fire Department and the Washington County Hazmat cleared everyone to be able to safely re-enter the building.
