PITTSBURGH — The Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh will remain closed for the rest of 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Officials said social distancing guidelines and restrictions on indoor gatherings make it difficult to return to “any version of normal museum operations,” which typically include interactive exhibits and learning.

Currently, officials are planning to reopen the museum in January 2021. They are working to develop reopening standards and procedures in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines.
Museum officials said they plan to rehire staff in phases.
