PITTSBURGH — An East Pittsburgh park has been dedicated to the memory of a woman killed more than 30 years ago.

Carole Kresik was found raped and murdered inside her apartment in 1986 and no one has ever been arrested.

Loved ones gathered Wednesday night at the intersection of Grandview and Ridge avenues for the dedication ceremony.

"As with this memorial park, it's our small way of preserving her memory forever, and we're just so glad to do it. We hope to keep it up," said Louis Payne, mayor of East Pittsburgh.

"I hope that it reminds everyone that we all must go, but we don't have to be forgotten," said Stephen Gingo, a friend.

Channel 11 contacted East Pittsburgh and Allegheny County for updates, but we have not yet heard back.
