ROSTRAVER, Pa. — About 400 people in the Rostraver/Belle Vernon area had their gas turned off Wednesday night because of a drop in pressure to a gas distribution line regulator station.
Columbia Gas crews started checking lines Wednesday night, and then had to go door to door to re-light the gas at every home.
Service was restored about 4:30 a.m. Thursday to all available customers, according to Columbia Gas. Door hangers have been left for customers who were not home, informing them of the outage and telling them to call the company to have service restored.

One homeowner told Channel 11 News on Wednesday that he hadn't had heat in his home for the last few days, but no one realized at first.
“I didn't even know my gas was off because it was warmer and no one had heat on," he said.
Columbia Gas employees knocked on doors of the 400 customers affected, shutting off their gas after the issue was discovered.
“We had a drop in pressure on a regulator station that was close by,” Sarah Barczyk, director of communications for Columbia Gas, said.
The company spokesperson says they started getting calls and realized the issue.
Warming centers were set up and heaters were passed out to anyone who needed them.
