Community pushes for 'do not knock' list

NOW PLAYING ABOVE

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Butler County community wants to start a 'do not knock' list.

Residents tell Channel 11 they’re tired of people knocking on doors at all hours of the day trying to sell them things.

Cranberry Township already has laws in place that solicitors have to abide by.

TRENDING NOW:

“We come home from work and we don't feel like being bothered,” said homeowner Paul Skalos.

Township leaders haven’t laid out all the plans yet on how a ban would work, but it’s similar to the do-not-call list.

Leaders want to create a year to year registry to let peddlers and solicitors know which homeowners and renters don’t want to be bothered.

Neighbors say signs just aren’t working.

“If it's early in the morning or late, I don't want someone knocking at my door,” Leeanna Eckman, another homeowner said.

The board is set to take up the issue later this month.
