PLUM BOROUGH, Pa. — A Delmont-based company wants to set up a gas disposal injection well in Plum Borough.
Earthquakes, tainted water and diseases are just some of the things people in Plum are worried a new well could bring.
More than two dozen people sounded off during a public hearing at the Plum Municipal Building.

Penneco Environmental Solutions has requested permits to dispose of fracking wastewater at a plugged gas well on Old Leechburg Road.
It would be used to dispose of water and other waste from fracking sites.
"The one question I have is, how does this benefit our community? How does this benefit us?" said resident Ray Brenner. "I've heard nothing but potential downsides and risks."
An environmental group, Clean Water Action, is against the proposal and says there are too many environmental risks.
No one at the meeting spoke in favor of the well and no one from the company was on hand.
