HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A 77-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a crash on Route 8 in Hampton Township.
The crash happened at around 1:32 p.m. near Mount Royal Boulevard.
Police said a BMW was traveling south on Route 8. Witnesses said the driver was driving erratically. Police said the BMW then crossed the center line and struck a minivan at a high rate of speed.

Both drivers were taken to hospitals. The driver of the minivan, a 77-year-old man, died at the hospital.
He was later identified by the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office as Raymond Anderson.
The driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old man, is in stable condition.
Homicide detectives and collision reconstructionists are investigating.
