The car ended up partially on top of a railing on a far side of the bridge shortly before 5 a.m. One person was taken to a hospital, officials said.

For several hours, the crash blocked the right lane coming from the North Shore, at the portal bridge that connects the Fort Duquesne and Fort Pitt bridges.

At the same time, the cab of a tractor-trailer also created issues for traffic on the Fort Duquesne Bridge.
The cab of the truck was stopped in the gore of the roadway, in between the ramps that take drivers to either the Fort Pitt Bridge or the Parkway East. A sheen on the road appeared to be fuel, possibly a ruptured saddlebag on the cab.
