STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police spent Wednesday afternoon searching for a missing woman from Allegheny County.
Patricia Moran, 64, of Stowe Township, has been missing from her home on Wheeler Avenue since Sunday or Monday.
Moran is 5 feet, 2 inches and weighs 100 pounds. Neighbors said someone called police because they noticed her door was open.
Crews searched down a steep hillside but didn’t find her. At that point, Allegheny County police who were also on scene put out an official missing persons declaration for Moran.
Moran has brown eyes, short gray hair and was last seen wearing a white tunic with a yellow design, black shorts and a gray top. She also had on white slippers with multi-colored stripes. It’s believed she was on foot.
Police also questioned several people in the neighborhood about what they may know.
Neighbor Ray Puskar says Moran is a quiet person who has a routine and keeps to herself.
“She used to work for me, she was a teacher’s aide at Stowe Rocks Elementary, and she had some health issues and she’s been out at the house by herself. One son did live with her, but he’s not there anymore. She usually just comes out, gets in her car to get a cup of coffee, or she’ll come out and take a walk and have a cigarette,” Puskar said.
Puskar says things didn’t look normal at her home recently.
“I guess one of the neighbors noticed for a couple days her front door was open, wide open. So they decided to call her brother, and her brother came over and checked and she wasn’t there. So that’s when we sent the alert out to look for her,” Puskar said.
