Desperate for a vacation? Here’s how some popular destinations are responding to COVID-19

Nothing sounds better than lounging on the beach right now, but the coronavirus pandemic has put summer vacations in jeopardy.

Just days after California opened its beaches, they're closing again. Police said it's because people aren't following social distancing guidelines.

Some popular beach destinations are opening, but it all depends on where you want to go. We highlighted some of our favorite vacation spots.

Myrtle Beach – South Carolina

After a month-long closure, the South Carolina hot spot just reopened this week.

Myrtle Beach is a popular vacation spot for families throughout the summer, and the beach is still practicing social distancing.

Outer Banks – North Carolina

In the outer banks, Dare County has extended its stay-at-home order through May 22 but will allow out-of-town property owners in starting Monday.

All non-resident property owners are asked to bring their own supplies to sustain themselves, including groceries, prescriptions, paper products and other essentials.

Ocean City – Maryland

You may have seen Ocean City's commercials telling visitors to stay away for now.

Its stay-at-home order was extended through May 15.

Both the boardwalk and beaches are closed to visitors.
