Elderly man asks teen to move their car, ends up peppered with paintballs

PITTSBURGH — An elderly man was injured after he was shot multiple times with a paintball gun in Pittsburgh’s Troy Hill neighborhood.

He was rushed to the hospital with welts all over his body.

His daughter Diane Myers told Channel 11 that her father was doing yard work and removing weeds when he asked a nearby teen if he could move his car, and that’s when the shooting started.

“This is just unacceptable. I mean he’s 86 years old. He’s not in his vibrant years. He’s in his elderly years. I mean, when does it come to a point that it’s elder abuse,” Myers said.

The good news is he didn’t need stitches, and hospital staff used medical tape on his wounds.

“It’s wrong of anyone to be assaulted for any reason. There are ways to work things out. I don’t care if there’s a pandemic or what’s going on in this world. It’s not how you have results happen,” Myers said.

She claims neighbors saw it but are afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation.

Meyers said she called 911 to report what happened and at last check no one has been arrested.

Pittsburgh police told Channel 11 the investigation is ongoing.
