CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. — A teacher in the Connellsville School District is facing charges for allegedly stealing money from the district.
Investigators said Kristin Collins stole more than $2,000 from students at Dunbar Elementary in Fayette County.
The school district’s superintendent is the one who caught the illegal activity and contacted state police.

According to a criminal complaint, the funds had been transferred over an approximately one-year period.
Collins transferred $2,049.40 from the Dunbar Elementary School Council account to her personal bank account, according to the criminal complaint.
The school district also released a statement regarding the charges, saying the district will “continue to cooperate” with state police during the investigation.
Collins faces several charges, including theft. There is no update regarding her employment status at the school.
