ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. — Ellwood City borough officials moved forward with plans to form an advanced life support system on Monday night.
Council members approved grant money from the Ellwood City Community Health foundation to be used for the program.

The funds were presented Monday night.
Right now, the fire department is only certified to provide basic life support, such as CPR or AED.
With the new classification, they will be able to provide the next level of care with 24/7 paramedic coverage.
