A family is desperate for answers after a man from Westmoreland County was found stabbed to death in Virginia.
Bruce Ritchie, a Navy veteran, was traveling for his job with Westinghouse. He called his wife Friday night to say he had a headache and was stopping until the medication kicked in, and that’s the last time she heard from him.
“It was about 2 o’clock. I texted him, ‘Hey babe where you at?’ just trying to get a feel for when he’d be home, and he didn’t respond and that wasn’t him,” Dawn Ritchie, Bruce Ritchie’s wife, said.

Virginia state troopers said Ritchie was found just off Interstate 77, where he had pulled off the exit and parked. Police said he had been stabbed in the back and was lying outside of his car. A knife was found near his body.
But there are still so many questions about who did it and why.
“They didn’t take anything. There were things of value in his car that were not touched. To the best of our knowledge, it was completely without reason,” Dawn Ritchie said.
Ritchie has six children and he’s also a grandfather.
