PITTSBURGH — Crews were called Friday morning to a fire at a house containing apartments in Pittsburgh’s North Side.
The fire, which officials said started in a second-floor bedroom, was reported just before 9:30 a.m. on Mitchell Street.
Two men who were renovating a house next door noticed smoke and called 911. They then banged on a door to get everyone out.
One person who lives in a basement apartment was home and made it out safely.
The man who lives in the apartment where the fire started was at work and not home at the time.
It is unclear what caused the fire.
