PITTSBURGH — The attorney for fired Pine-Richland head football coach Eric Kasperowicz has filed a defamation lawsuit.
He said he wants to clear Kasperowicz’s name. Included in the lawsuit are the school district, superintendent and the school board president. It accuses the superintendent and school board president of lying about the fired coach and spreading those lies to students and families.

“I’ve given my life’s work to building student athletes who are honest and hardworking. The conduct described does not meet with the values that I and my staff have taught these young men over the years,” Kasperwicz said during a news conference Friday.
In a letter, the superintendent said there is a history of a “broad range of issues” related to Kasperowicz, including recruiting, failing to report serious matters and other incidents. That was the reasoning behind not renewing his contract.
