SOUTH CONNELLSVILLE, Pa. — A Fayette County home was destroyed by fire Thursday morning.
The flames broke out at the home on South Pittsburgh Street in South Connellsville around 5 a.m.
The intense fire ripped through the house, causing it to collapse.
Investigators said one man lives there, but was not home when the fire started.
No one was hurt.

There was a dog in the yard when the fire started, which first responders helped move away from the flames.
"It was like going through the fire gates of Hell - that's how much fire there was," said South Connellsville Assistant Fire Chief James Porterfield.
Several fire companies from Fayette and Westmoreland counties helped fight the fire.
The Pennsylvania State Police marshal is investigating the cause of the fire. It's unclear if it is suspicious.
