NATRONA HEIGHTS, Pa. — Firefighters swarmed a fire at a physical therapy office in Natrona Heights on Monday afternoon, a site across the street from Allegheny Valley Hospital.

Flames broke out at the Pivot Physical Therapy building along Alabama Avenue, and around 50 fire trucks responded.

Officials say no one was hurt, but Dylan Grainger and Breanna Mootsey say they lost everything they own. The biggest loss, however, was their three cats.

"My cats were inside. They didn't make it out so I'm just not feeling really good," Mootsey said.

The blaze, reported shortly before 2:30 p.m., caused the roof of the two-story commercial building to collapse, and heavy smoke was pouring from windows to seven apartments on the second floor.

"We saw actual flames and just smoke, just smoke coming out of the windows," Grainger said.

He and Mootsey just moved in a couple of months ago.

"We had just gotten our pots and pans and everything and gotten everything bought and set up," she said. "We just need to get all that stuff back, I guess."

Officials told Channel 11 the fire may have started in a kitchen in the physical therapy office.

The fire did not significantly impact hospital operations, but it did temporarily restrict the access road to the facility.
