The crime rattled the entire neighborhood and answers have been hard to come by, but investigators may be getting closer to the person or people responsible.

George Peace, 46, has been charged with concealing or destroying evidence and tampering with evidence in the case.

According to court paperwork, Peace was considered a person of interest in the case since he was at the couple's West Fifth Street home the weekend of the murders.

In December, Peace told investigators he had the gun that was used in the murders and that he was told by one of the suspects to get rid of it.

"He wrapped the gun in a tank top and placed it inside a Shop-Vac to hide it," the affidavit reads. "He related that after the last interview, he gave the gun away to another individual for drugs."

Peace is being held in the Armstrong County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Channel 11 contacted Peace's attorney to see if he had any comment and we have not heard back.
