JEFFERSON HILLS, Pa. — Flames ripped through a bar in Jefferson Hills on Sunday night, and then the fire rekindled Monday morning.

Firefighters were first called just before 9 p.m. to Valley Hotel on New England Hollow Road, officials said. Crews battled flames for more than two hours before they were brought under control.
The damage was extensive.
“Just a large amount of volume fire. We had adequate water, adequate staffing, apparatus … it was just too far gone when we got there,” Jefferson Hills Fire Rescue Chief Brian Chalfant said.
No one was hurt, but one person who lived in an apartment above the bar was displaced.
Officials said the building was under renovation. It’s unclear whether that contributed to the fire.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Monday, firefighters were called back out to the fire because it rekindled.
