PITTSBURGH — The Mainline Pharmacy has been working to make vaccine clinics a reality for people in the community. Starting next week, it will hold several clinics at the former Ulta store in the Monroeville Mall.
The pharmacy has already given more than 55,000 doses of the vaccine. With the new clinics, officials hope to get another 20,000 doses out to people who want them.
“We’re going to start a little bit lower to make sure things are under control, but I see no reason why we can’t do up to 1,500 vaccines a day,” said John Pastorek with the pharmacy. “We’re hoping to do one, two, three clinics a week until people don’t need the vaccine anymore.”
Allegheny Health Network is also holding a mass vaccination clinic in the former Sears location at the Pittsburgh Mills Mall.
Starting April 20, between 6,000 and 6,500 people are expected to get the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, according to our partners at TribLive.com. The second dose will be given on May 11.
Two other mass vaccination clinics are also planned to be held in Monroeville on April 12 and April 26, AHN officials said.
