AVONMORE, Pa. — It’s been four years since Albert Copper III, a husband and father, was seen for the last time.
The 28-year-old left his home in the Borough of Avonmore in Westmoreland County about 3:45 p.m. on June 6, 2013 to go to work.
He never made it there and his vehicle was found in a wooded area in Armstrong County near the Avonmore Bridge, which is not far from where he lived.
Copper has not been seen or heard from since.
His family remains haunted by his disappearance.
They are begging for someone to come forward with information on where Copper may be.
"It gets harder as the years go on," said his mother, Linda Copper. "Especially as his son gets older. We need some sort of closure. I think something bad happened. My son didn't like to be away from home."
On Tuesday night, she, her husband and younger son went back to the spot where Albert's car was recovered in Armstrong. Linda believes her son did not drive his car there himself.
"We don't expect to find anything, but it's just, we have no place else to go," she said.
They nailed a sign into the ground of Albert's picture and information as a symbol that they haven't given up on him.
Surveillance video shows him at a gas station and he doesn't seem to be distraught. State police troopers say everything seemed normal.
"We're basically making a plea to anybody in the public and recreating some of these photos that we have from that day asking if anyone has any whereabouts or any contact with this individual," Trooper Steve Limani said.
His family says he was never under any sort of stress and didn't have any enemies.
Four years later, they are still searching for answers..
"Anything that they think is insignificant could be what we're looking for, what we need," Linda Copper said. "Because right now we don't have anything."
Anyone with information on his disappearance is asked to contact the Greensburg Barracks of the Pennsylvania State Police at 724-832-3288 or PSP Kiski Valley at 724-727-3434.
