PITTSBURGH — Gas prices in the Pittsburgh area are spiking.
In just one week, the numbers at the pump have ticked up 7 cents a gallon.
Channel 11 checked several gas stations, all of which had their cheapest gas listed at nearly $2.86 a gallon.

That's higher than the $2.81 average in the Pittsburgh market.
It's rare to see rising prices in the fall.
Experts say it's being fueled by a major pipeline leak and a big demand for gas right now.
Analysts expect prices to go down by the end of the week.
