WEST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — More than 200 homes without gas today in the area of Robinson Indiana County -- and people aren’t able to cook or take hot showers
Some neighbors Channel 11 talked to said their furnaces exploded this morning and then caught on fire.
One man, Monty Hall, said his furnace is fried, but he wasn’t alone. Several other neighbors said their furnaces were compromised, within minutes of each other.

A spokesperson for Peoples Gas told Channel 11 there was a surge in the line, and crews were still assessing it; going door to door, checking gas lines and gas appliances. Gas was shut off to 220 homes in the area.
The gas company hasn’t said what caused the surge or if that could’ve contributed.
The work will take them into Thursday and gas won’t be restored until then.
