GIBSONIA, Pa. — The fired Pine-Richland High School football coach is getting support from the Gateway School District’s athletic director, who told other coaches not to apply for the open job.

Don Holl, Gateway’s athletic director, said he emailed every high school head football coach in Pennsylvania with the request, asking for support for Eric Kasperowicz.

Kasperowicz was fired from being Pine-Richland High School’s football coach on Wednesday night, along with the entire football staff. He said on Friday that he reapplied in hopes of getting his job back.

According to Channel 11′s news exchange partners at TribLIVE, administrators had been questioning current and former players about allegations of misconduct in the locker room.

Kasperowicz said no bullying or hazing took place. Players also refuted such claims.

There are now calls for members of the administration and school board to resign. During a school board meeting on Friday, board member Ben Campbell resigned.

Kasperowicz’s father, Mark Kasperowicz, is a former equipment manager at the school. He said an administrator had it out for his son for quite some time.

A Change.org petition titled “Bring back Pine Richland football coaches” has been started.

Kasperowicz’s advisor sent an email to Pine-Richland on Friday, requesting a sit-down meeting with the superintendent and other senior administrators.
