Giant Eagle Pharmacy plans to give COVID-19 vaccine

PITTSBURGH — Your Giant Eagle Pharmacy could soon have the COVID-19 vaccine. According to a notice posted on the company’s website, it is “diligently preparing and planning to administer the COVID-19 vaccine to our neighbors and communities.”

The notice said some high-risk patients in West Virginia had already been vaccinated at Giant Eagle in coordination with the local health department there.

In Pennsylvania, the state is currently in Phase 1 of the vaccine distribution plan, which includes health-care workers and high-risk patients. The general population will be vaccinated in Phase 3 in Pennsylvania, which is expected sometime in late spring or early summer.
