KITTANNING, Pa. — After a female goalie for the Mars hockey team was humiliated in the middle of a game against Armstrong High School last week, Olympian Megan Duggan is sending words of support.
“Every time you take the ice, women & girls all over the hockey community are proud of YOU!,” the gold medalist tweeted.
To the Mars goalie who was targeted at a western PA hockey game last week...Every time you take the ice, women & girls all over the hockey community are proud of YOU! You represent so much more than the hateful words that were directed toward you. I stand with you 👊🏻 @NHL @PWHPA

Despite the goalie being seen on the ice in tears, and an arena full of people, nobody did anything to stop the behavior.
The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League is now investigating the incident and has indefinitely banned the entire student section from hockey games.
