PITTSBURGH — Nearly three weeks after Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh was closed after a piece of granite fell from the Frick Building, the road reopened Friday.
Channel 11’s Rick Earle reported Friday afternoon that crews began removing barricades ahead of the road’s reopening, which happened shortly after 3:30 p.m.
“It's very good news for a lot of people. The last couple weeks we were lucky, it's the least amount of traffic downtown because people are on vacation. Come Monday, a lot of students are back here in the universities and the following week public schools start back up,” Guy Costa, Pittsburgh's chief operations officer, said.
