Greensburg police say a person calling for donations for their department is not affiliated with them.
Police said they have received several questions from residents asking about the calls. The caller reportedly asks for money to purchase equipment for the department.

The department says they is not soliciting donations, nor has it asked anyone to do so on their behalf.
“Our suggestion would be to not answer any questions and simply hang up the phone,” the department said on its Facebook page.
Greensburg police said you should be aware that the scammers will often change the scenarios or the purpose for the donations.
