PITTSBURGH — Nearly 2,000 people cast their vote for their favorite gingerbread houses in this very unique edition of the city of Pittsburgh’s gingerbread competition!
Dozens of gingerbread masterpieces with gumdrops, candy canes or other sweet treats were submitted online, and the results are in. The city’s 18th annual Gingerbread House Display and Competition was virtual for 2020.
A panel of judges chose award recipients, and an online gallery featuring photos of all entries will be available through Jan. 8.
“Christmas on the Mountain,” created by Eva Mountain, won the inaugural People’s Choice award. The snow-covered gingerbread cottage featuring a shingle roof and round entry door was entered in the competition’s “Children Ages 10 – 13” category.
