Historic bar up for sale in Pittsburgh’s North Side

PITTSBURGH — A decades-old popular bar in Pittsburgh’s North Side is up for sale.

The Park House, on East Ohio Street in Deutschtown, has been around since the 1800s. It’s still open but was recently listed for sale.

“Being a part of this community for all these years has been so rewarding,” current owner Zamir Zahavi told Channel 11′s news exchange partners at TribLIVE. “I really hope that the legacy of Park House will carry on under new ownership.”

That legacy includes the popular bluegrass nights.

Locals hope whatever happens won’t hurt the neighborbood.

“This, to me, is kind of like an old school thing, this whole street. I like coming down here because it represents Pittsburgh, you know, part of the old Pittsburgh,” Clifford Peterson said.
