Hitting the pool: Here’s what it’ll be like when Cranberry Twp. Waterpark reopens

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Cranberry Township Waterpark is getting ready to reopen on June 20.

Families can expect to see changes based on Centers for Disease Control and Prevention protocol for COVID-19.

Among the changes will be limited availability of deck chairs, so people are encouraged to bring their own chairs to help with sanitation efforts.

The number of people allowed inside the waterpark will be limited, and the pool will be open only to waterpark members and Cranberry Township residents and their guests.

The concession stand will be open, but only at limited times with limited menu options. Outside food will only be permitted if its kept in a cooler.

To promote social distancing, people will notice markers on the ground.

In order to keep things sanitary, extra staff will be on hand to clean chairs, tables and amenities such as the water slide. However, the sand volleyball court and the sand play area will be closed.

Face coverings will be encouraged under certain circumstances.

“We are strongly encouraging masks when you’re in line to enter the waterpark and when you’re in line for the concession stand,” Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Director Pete Geis said.
