Homewood gathers to create memorial 'healing wall'

The Homewood community rolled up its sleeves Monday to remember those lost to gun violence.

Dozens of people came out Monday evening to paint the names of victims on the "healing wall."

The base of the mural says "reform gun." Names, dates and other reminders are being added by community members.

Those people Channel 11 talked to said that, while this will be a type of memorial of the lives cut short, it will also send a message to those responsible.

"We want others to be able to look at this and see -- look what you've done,” said Adrienne Young. "We want to the perps to see this wall and realize the carnage they’re causing in our community."

The mural is just off Homewood Avenue, next to the PNC Bank.
