Man arrested after shooting during custody exchange in North Versailles police parking lot

PITTSBURGH — A man has been arrested following a shooting during a custody exchange in North Versailles on Wednesday night.

29-year-old Shawn Coles-Lundy was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and five counts of recklessly endangering another person. He is awaiting arraignment in Allegheny County Jail.

According to Allegheny County Police, at around 8:01 p.m., North Versailles Police were notified of a shooting in the police/municipal parking lot in the 1400 block of Greensburg Pike. That’s between the Parkway and Penn Avenue.

First responders learned the victim fled the scene in a vehicle. He was located nearby in Wilmerding.

According to the criminal complaint, Coles-Lundy is supposed to have visitation with a child every Wednesday night. During the custody exchange, Coles-Lundy got in an argument with the child’s mother’s boyfriend, according to police. That’s what shots rang out.

The boyfriend, 31-year-old man. was shot in both legs. A six-year-old female was grazed by a bullet fragment and treated on scene.

A 29-year-old female, and two other children ages 14 and 11 months were uninjured.

Investigators determined that Coles-Lundy is the father of the injured six-year-old.

It’s still not clear what led to the shooting.
