Hundred Acres Manor Haunted House not opening for Halloween 2020

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — The organizers of Hundred Acres Manor Haunted House in Bethel Park announced the attraction will not be opening for Halloween this year.

In a post on Facebook, organizers called it a “difficult decision” made after they “thoughtfully and thoroughly considered the advice provided by medical experts.”

Organizers said the attraction was born 17 years ago with the mission to entertain and raise money for charities to help people in need. Over that time, staff and volunteers have donated over $2.4 million to the community.

Management said they would be able to safely have face masks, limited capacity, disinfection stations and adhere to social distancing, but none of those things “completely eliminate the potential transmission risk of COVID-19.”

The post ended with, “Halloween lives on and so will Hundred Acres Manor.”

The Halloween attraction has been nationally recognized in recent years by Forbes, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times, among other publications.

In contrast, another nationally renowned haunted attraction, ScareHouse, will be opening up with safety plans in place at The Pittsburgh Mills mall.
