Pittsburgh Public Safety said police were present to close roads around the protesters “for safety reasons.” Grant Street was shutdown to traffic for hours.

Protesters were chanting and demonstrating in that area for about three hours before they started marching down Grant Street.

The crowd marched down Grant and stopped on Stanwix Street and Fort Pitt Boulevard.

They then headed back up Grant and returned to the City-County building, where the protest began.

Protesters dispersed around 7 p.m. and there were no incidents or arrests, according to police.
