PITTSBURGH — As Pittsburgh continues to grow, officials are already planning for the future of the city’s mobility system and infrastructure.
Looking ahead decades, city officials have been gathering ideas about mobility and connectivity needs now and for the next three generations. It’s part of the PGH Mobility 2070 investment plan.

Ideas submitted include hyperloop connections to major cities, car-free boulevards, gondola transit routes and drone deliveries to smart traffic networks, officials said.
The hyperloop could become a reality for Pittsburghers sooner rather than later, with companies already looking into the possibility.

On Tuesday, city officials will launch a second round of public input during a meeting starting at 6 p.m. at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. The public dialogue will continue at community meetings and events across the city over the next two months.
A draft of the 2070 Mobility Vision Plan is expected to be released in May.
