FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Findlay Township Police say they found a driver suspected of a destructive hit-and-run incident within a local park.
Last week, police put out a plea on Facebook, seeking information about a Honda Accord driver who allegedly caused significant damage to property at the Recreation and Sports Complex at Leopold Lake earlier this month.
Police paperwork states that a driver went off the road, crashing into a Duquesne Light electrical box before taking off.
Police utilized surveillance footage and license plate technology to lead them to the suspected driver.
Documents reveal the teenage driver has admitted to the crime and received a citation.
The driver claims that some friends were in the vehicle at the time, but none were reportedly hurt.
“I think it’s awfully dangerous and a scary situation,” one local resident said. They added that they’re grateful parkgoers weren’t hurt.
