WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — The beloved Kangaroo ride is bouncing back as an attraction at Kennywood, the amusement park announced Friday.
The ride -- which first debuted in 1962 and inspired the park’s mascot, Kenny Kangaroo -- will be totally refurbished. It will include LED lighting and vibrant new colors, while still providing the “Flying Coaster” feel, according to Kennywood.
After it was announced in 2020 that the Kangaroo was being retired, fans pleaded for the park to bring it back.
Now, fans will be able to play a role in the ride’s future by selecting its new logo and theming. Do you prefer classic or vintage? CLICK HERE to vote on the new look.
Voting will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 21, and the winning theme will be announced on Nov. 24.
