WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild parks have changed their indoor mask policy, and it applies to everyone, whether vaccinated against COVID-19 or not.
All guests are again required to wear masks in indoor areas. People who are unvaccinated should also wear masks outdoors, except while eating, drinking or on a water ride. Mask requirements at the parks had been dropped since May, but the policy started back up Tuesday.
“We continue to follow the guidelines set by the CDC,” Kennywood spokesman Nick Paradise said.
When asked how the policy will be enforced, Paradise said masks will be available for anyone who doesn’t have one.
“We expect people to follow the rules,” he said.
The parks will continue to monitor the rising cases of COVID-19 in the area and will reevaluate the mask policy as necessary.
Additional mitigation efforts remain in place at the parks, including frequent sanitizing of high-touch surfaces and rides.
