Crews from Fayette EMS and Murrysville Medic One left Thursday morning to head to South Carolina to help with Hurricane Florence efforts.

Those first responders are part of the National EMS disaster response team and will be helping with relief efforts on the Carolinas border.

Also, Gov. Tom Wolf said 25 National Guard members, a couple fish and boat rescue technicians and two helicopters are making their way from Johnstown and Fort Indiantown Gap to McEntire Joint National Guard Base near Columbia, South Carolina.

Wolf says that, while Pennsylvania recovers from flooding, he wants folks in the Carolinas to know the state is thinking of them and wishing them safe passage through this storm.
