NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. — A Westmoreland County florist is facing charges after police say he hid a video recording device in a floral arrangement that he placed in a woman’s bedroom and downloaded nude images from.
Eric Belak, 57, is from North Huntingdon, but his business - Belak Flowers - is in Irwin.
Police started investigating in May when the woman’s relative had found the nude images of her on one of Belak’s computers.
According to the criminal complaint filed by police, the woman found the images on Belak’s computer and then discovered the camera in the flowers.
The camera contained images of the woman undressing and dressing on four different occasions, according to police. There is also video that allegedly shows Belak rearranging the flowers and camera in the bedroom.
Belak, according to the criminal complaint, began deleting images when confronted by the relative about the hidden video camera.
The complaint also says Belak texted the woman saying: “I made a stupid drunk decision. I don’t know how to apologize. I am sorry. Nothing was ever shared.”
Belak declined to comment to our news partners at TribLIVE.com. He faces a preliminary hearing on July 19.
“Do you have any sort of a comment?” reporter Amy Hudak asked Belak when he answered his door?
“Goodbye!” he said as he quickly closed the door.
