PITTSBURGH — Longtime Pittsburgh news personality Mike Pintek has died after battling pancreatic cancer.
Pintek, 65, had been the host of his own show on KDKA Radio for more than 30 years.
It's with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that our very own @mikepintek passed away early this morning after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Pintek was 65.

In May of 2017, he was diagnosed with inoperable cancer. According to KDKA Radio, he began an aggressive form of chemotherapy and radiation in addition to participating in experimental drug studies all while continuing his show.
This year, in June, he left the airwaves after suffering a stroke.

"He was constantly trying to seek opinions from his listening audience. He loved to talk to his listeners. He loved that bi-play. However, if you were going to debate him, you better be bringing it," KDKA Radio Program Director Jim Graci said.
In addition to his work at KDKA Radio, Pintek was a former host of PCNC's Night Talk and guest host on Hosenberger Live.
Services for Pintek have not been announced yet.
