Looking for a Covid-19 shot? Armstrong County Memorial Hospital has lots of vaccines, but few takers

County officials lower vaccine eligibility age as concerns rise for ‘spring surge’ of COVID-19 cases

ARMSTRONG COUNTY — Kristine Lynch wants to give you a shot in the arm.

Lynch, a registered nurse and the vaccine coordinator at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, said the clinic site will be receiving more than 3,100 doses a week of the Covid-19 vaccine in the coming weeks -- but organizers aren’t seeing many people registering for a spot.

“We really want to get the word out and we really want to get these vaccines to the public,” Lynch said. “Right now we have just a trickle of appointments.”

The clinic is set up to vaccinate between 550-750 people a day between 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Soon they will receive 3,170 doses a week, allowing for many more vaccinations.

Their online scheduling tool shows numerous open appointments for every day for the next month.

Anyone eligible for a vaccine under the Phase 1A rollout can book an appointment online or call 724.543.8222.

The clinic is located at 79 Glade Dr, Kittanning, PA 16201.
